Ella's Mini-Haircut

I finally broke down and cut Ella's hair. Okay, I just cut some bangs. I'm slowly working towards cutting some length off, too. But bangs are fine for now!

Ella's First Pumpkin Pie!

We had to "practice" making our pumpkin pie since Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Ella helped me make a pie for the first time, and she was so helpful! It was fun to watch her sniff and smell all the ingredients as we put them in. She was the "stirrer" and kept telling me what I needed to do next, so that was a big help also...

Cuddle Monkeys

I have to take a picture of them whenever I find them getting along and being SO CUTE! :-)

Baby Remily

Mark and Mandy's baby has arrived! Alexandria was born on November 4th. She already had a full head of thick black hair. She's beautiful!

Twick or Tweat!

Monday, October 16, 2006

Madeline's "weather artwork" was published in the Albany Democrat-Herald back in September. She didn't really think much of it, but I was a proud mama...showing everyone at work and printing off color copies.

A Big Girl Haircut

Madeline has wanted short hair for awhile now, so I finally took her to have it done. She cut 10" off, enough to donate to "Locks of Love", an organization that makes hair prosethetics for children who have lost their hair to due to a medical condition called alopecia areata. The new cut totally fits our Madeline...

We have a Kindergartner in the house!

September 6th was a big day for Madeline. She is now in Kindergarten! She was a little worried, but she is crusing right along now. Her favorite "subject" is math! I had better line up a tutor now! It was a big day for Ella, too. She started in the Garden Room the same day, a step up from the Meadow Room where she had been for the last year. I'm proud of our girls!

Final Summer Outing

We decided to head to Foster Lake to have one last blast before the summer ended. Good thing we went since that was one of the last hot days we had...

Reach for the Sky!

We woke up at 5:30am go watch the 25 - 30 balloons that took off Saturday morning to start the NW Art & Air Festival which takes place in Albany. The girls loved it, although Ella was a little scared of the burners and the balloons as they went over.

Izzie and da bears

This was too cute! Madeline had lined up all her Care Bears before she went to bed. Izzie came along later that night and decided to take a nap in the midst of all the bears.

Happiness is a cardboard box...

The box is always the best part! After this picture they took their markers and colored their new house and dad helped put in windows and a door. It is currently being used as a "bank", which closes to business every 30 seconds or so...

Madeline Reads to Ella

We just got back from picking blueberries in Corvallis. Ella ate her way through the rows, and managed to put about 5 in her bucket, only to eat them before we got back to the car. When we got back home, Madeline asked to read Ella her books before naptime. Before we knew it, Madeline came out of Ella's room and said she was in her crib, ready for her nap and wanting a kiss from Mom & Dad. We were dumbfounded! WOW!!!

Otter Pops!

It has been in the high 90s and low 100s for some time now! We've been keeeping our cool with fans and Otter Pop popsicles. Last weekend it was supposed to be 106, so we skipped town and visited Grandma & Grandpa Francis on the coast. It was at least 25 - 30 degrees cooler there, thank goodness. We had a great visit, but forgot our camera. Ooops!

Matchin' jammies!

A recent picture of the girls, who are growing WAY too fast. Ella is talking even more now. Her favorite game is QUESTION. She says: "Mama, I have a question for you". I say: "What's your question, Ella?" She says: "Flower". It goes ON and ON with all these 1 word "questions". Finally she'll say: "Now you do me, Mama". And then I have to ask her all the "questions". It's too cute! Madeline is doing a great job in the Ocean room (the Kindegarten room). She is getting to do all of the big-kid activities and she loves it.

Bye for now. We love you all! I'll post some 4th of July pics tomorrow...

Relay for Life: American Cancer Society

Madeline and I did the Relay for life in June. We were at the West Albany High School track overnight, walking and raising money for the fight against cancer. We walked in honor of our family friend, Marlyn Traff. The whole track was lit with the luminary bags, it was really emotional to read the messages while we walked. Madeline did a great job walking and had a blast sleeping in her "Hello Kitty" tent. Overall the event raised $70,000.

Quick...take a picture!

I had to snap a picture of them actually playing together...what a nice change! Here Madeline was helping Ella read the book about colors. It was wonderful to see!

Madeline's Gymnastics Class

Madeline graduated from her "Tiny Tumblers" class with flying colors last Saturday. She is a natural and loves her class. She wants to continue on with the next class level in the Fall. She will also be starting her swimming lessons in the next couple of weeks. Ella will be getting signed up for some classes soon, too! It will be fun to see what she enjoys doing. I'm thinking some dance classes will be in order for her!

Thunderstorm!

We got a great thunderstorm today, complete with hail and green skies. Very exciting! We rarely get storms like that around here. The girls send their love your way. Hug-Hug!

Easter Sunday

Easter 2006. The girls had so much fun looking for Easter eggs in the backyard. The rain even held off for awhile, so we didn't get drenched.
